Phase 1 is done

21 days down!!! I heard somewhere that it takes 21 days to build a habit.... Yep, that means P90X is a habit now! It is weird.. I had dinner last night at Red Lobster and was really worried about my calories. I ended up eating grilled salmon, brown rice, a garden salad, and a biscuit... I also splurged on a dessert :(. I got home and added up all the calories and was shocked. About 2 months ago I wouldn't of thought twice about the calories and would do it all over again the next day. Not only am I aware of my calorie count, I am also putting good food into my body! Lean Proteins and Veggies...

I am almost at the month mark. I have lost about 7-8 pounds and feel much stronger. The 4th week is recovery week. There is 2 yoga session (it is just as hard as the rest of the routines and it is 90 minutes), core synergistic (haven't done this yet), Kempo X (kick boxing routine), and X stretch (haven't done this either).... This adds up to a pretty tough recovery week. Then it is off to phase 2. My diet changes also. I get to add carbs back into my diet. I am pretty excited about that.

I have been surprised with the amount of strength I have gained over the last 21 days. I can actually do a pull up (for a matter of fact I can do 5 regular pull ups in a row), my push ups have become better (can do more with better form), I take less breaks during the cardio routines.. Believe me the cardio routines (so far Plyometrics and Kempo) are extremely hard. My heart rate averages between 150 and 170 the whole workout. It is harder to get my heart rate up which is a good feeling.

Etsuko is temped to join me in the P90X workouts, but still thinks it is too extreme. I think I may order her the Power 90 routine (which is taught by the same trainer but not as intense). I have also seen a paradigm change in myself. I am much more assertive and look for opportunities instead of finding excuses on why I can't do something... And it has only been 3 weeks.. I can't wait until I hit the 90 day mark!!
